Fan Zhendong has shown a lot of impressive performances in the past that really caught the attention of everyone. However, in this year’s squad trials, the young player Fan Zhendong didn’t quite impress the coaches, especially the head coach Liu Guoliang. According to him, Fan Zhendong showed lack of maturity in the competition.

“His performance was a bit weak.” said, thinking that the young player needs to be disciplined said Liu Guoliang
The head coach pointed out that because of the big improvements from Fan Zhendong, the other main players have also changed their perception on the young player. They definitely would not treat Fan Zhendong as if he is still like a young kid.
“His techniques, timing, ability to seize the opportunity, and experience all played a big role. The confrontation in the squad trials and in the Super League are not the same. It is even far higher than the average World Tour. This is their real performance.” The head coach added.
Liu Guoliang still believe that Fan Zhendong is a talented player but still lack the maturity. “For Fan Zhendong, this is his price to pay. He has the strength, the potential, but he is not yet mature.” Liu Guoliang concluded.
Fan Zhendong lost in 0-5 against Xu Xin and Ma Long. He also lost to Zhang Jike.
