On his way to the final, Xu Xin, top seed, defeated Lee Sangsu of South Korea by 11-7, 17-15, 9-11, 11-9 and 11-1 in quarerfinals and Gao Ning by 8-11, 11-7, 11-2, 11-4 and 11-1 in semifinals. To reach the final, the Olympic champion overcame Chinese Taipei's Chiang Hung-Chieh by 11-5, 11-5, 5-11, 12-10 and 11-2 in quarterfinals and Hong Kong's Wong Chun Ting by 11-7, 8-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-5 and 11-8 in semifinals. The final match will be played tomorrow Saturday at 16:30 (local time)
