Dubai will be hosting another international competition which will gather some of the best table tennis players in Asia. This competition is the 2016 Asian Cup and one of the representatives of the Chinese Team will be Zhang Jike. The Asian Cup is several days from now and the Grand Slam champion Zhang Jike is already feeling excited about the competition.
“The table tennis fans of Dubai and their enthusiasm are very inspiring.” Zhang Jike said. Zhang Jike will be one of the representatives of the Chinese National Team for the upcoming Asian Cup to be held in Dubai. According to the Grand Slam champion, this competition feels like competing in his own country.
“There are 200,000 Chinese people living in Dubai and they always cheer for the Chinese Team. I almost feel like I am playing in my own court.” Zhang Jike said.
Dubai has been a major sponsor of table tennis and the Chinese National Team. The city has initiated the Ping Pong Dubai which enhances the interest of people to play the sport.
